INDIA SEMINAR 2010: Brief report

Host organisation: Catholic Health Association of India

Financed through: anamed international and the contributions of seminar participants.

Projects already confirmed:

• Printing of the anamed plant-poster and seminar handbook in Ranchi.
• Translation of the seminar handbook into Hindi. Some gardens of Artemisia annua.

Projects for the future:

• Printing of our literature in Hindi and other local languages.
• The establishment of active anamed groups and a central anamed medicinal garden in each province.
• The establishment of a department “anamed” in the future Catholic training clinic for northern India in Ranchi is envisaged.

Itinerary:

3 March 2010: Flight, overnight in Delhi.

4 März: Flight to Ranchi.

7-14 March: Seminar in Ranchi / Province Jharkhand in Northeast India. The cardinal who opened our seminar is called Cardinal Telesphoro Toppo, the first ever cardinal from the “Tribals”, those outside the caste system!

14 March. Seminar celebration of the first birthday of “anamed India”.

15-16 March: Seminar for the participants of last year`s seminar: Evaluation of our work.

17 March: Visit to the projects of last year`s participants.

20 March: Visit to the Catholic "Pillar Fathers" in Pillar, near Goa.

22.-26. March: 4 day Seminar in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, central-east India, for 20 women and 20 pastors from a Protestant church.

27 March: Return to Germany
