Natural Medicine in Congo Province Orientale

Flory Lechabo prepares a nutritional dish - small

During the Ombay 2011 training seminar Flory Lechabo prepares a nutritional dish using goundnuts, honey and moringa. This is excellent for people who are HIV positive.

anamed groups have been established in Abedju, Adi, Agura, Aru, Bongilo, Laybo, Ombayi, Sigoli and Ugonzo. Each group has at least one medicinal garden. Local leaders in each of these groups run their own training workshops in Natural Medicine.

Natural Medicine has been integrated into the treatments offered in several hospitals. As a result, they are able to offer a bigger range of effective treatments -sometimes natural remedies work where conventional remedies fail. They are also able to generate income for the hospital - an enormous benefit in a region where health care in general is poorly resourced.

Over the past two years the rebel movement, the “Lord`s Resistance Army”, has caused much suffering in North-east Congo, with the result that several thousand people have fled from their homes and settled near to Adi. anamed workers in Adi Hospital, led by the late Akuma Tande, have not only treated many of these people free of charge, but have also trained them in Natural Medicine so that they can take care of their basic health needs themselves.

If you support projects in North-east Congo, you are invited to sponsor your project workers to attend training seminars run by anamed Congo - Orientale. For details contact Flory Lechabo in Adi, Tel +243 99 709 4788 and Email. Also keep an eye on our page “anamed seminars
