anamed has been active in D R Congo for many years. The founder of anamed, Dr Hans-Martin Hirt, lived there from 1985 to 1991, and it was during those years that the idea of anamed was conceived.

Since 1995, anamed has run training seminars in many parts of Congo. As a result, today there are many groups in many different parts of the country that are very actively practising Natural Medicine as taught by anamed.
